“Surprise!” the old man shouted triumphantly, handing her the signature pink shopping bag containing a tiny, lace teddy.
The wife snatched the bag from his hand, arched an eyebrow, and marched straight into the bathroom to try it on.
It was an absolute disaster. She struggled, pulled, and squeezed, but the fabric was at least two sizes too small. Realizing there was no way this was going to look like the catalog, she decided to linger in the bathroom. She brushed her teeth, organized the medicine cabinet, and waited a long time, secretly hoping her husband would lose interest and fall asleep since it was getting quite late.
Finally, realizing she couldn’t hide forever, she decided to improvise. She turned off every single light in the bedroom, plunged the room into absolute darkness, and stepped out of the bathroom completely undressed. She strutted over to the edge of the bed, striking a confident, glamorous modeling pose in the shadows.
Her husband, still sitting up against the pillows, squinted intensely into the pitch-black room. He leaned forward, rubbed his eyes, and finally sighed in deep disappointment.
“Well, I’ll tell you one thing, dear. For as much money as I spent on that damn thing, the least they could have done was iron out the wrinkles!”
A husband and wife were lying awake in pitch darkness in the middle of the night, tense energy filling the bedroom.
“I won’t be able to sleep afterward,” the husband groaned, shifting under the covers.
“Well, I can’t sleep without it,” the wife snapped back.
“Why do you always think of things like this in the middle of the night?”
“Because I’m incredibly hot,” she complained. “If you actually loved me, I wouldn’t have to beg for it.”
The husband sighed loudly. “If you loved me, you’d be more considerate. Let’s just forget about it for tonight.”
The wife turned away and began to sob softly into her pillow. “Boo hoo… you don’t care about my needs at all.”
Defeated, the husband threw off the blanket. “Alright, alright! Fine, I’ll do it.”
“What’s the matter?” she whispered loudly. “Do you need a flashlight?”
“I can’t find it in the dark,” he muttered, fumbling around blindly.
“Oh, for heaven’s sake,” the wife exasperated, “just feel around for it!”
After a moment of clumsy rustling, a sharp clicking sound echoed through the room. “There!” the husband panted. “Are you happy now?”
“Oh, yes, honey, that feels amazing,” she sighed with immense relief.
“Is it up far enough?” he asked, out of breath.
“Yes, that’s absolutely perfect.”
“Fine,” the husband snapped, climbing back into bed and pulling up the sheets. “Now go to sleep! And from now on, when you want the bedroom window open, open it yourself!”
