π³π CAN YOU COUNT THE EGGS IN THIS PAN?
At first glance, this looks like a ridiculously easy puzzle.
Just look at the pan and count the eggs.
But waitβ¦
Are you counting the eggs β or the yolks? π€
That tiny difference changes everything!
Take a close look at the fried eggs in the pan. You can clearly see several bright yellow yolks, but some of them are sitting two at a time inside the same egg white.
And that is where this puzzle gets tricky.
π§ FIRST QUESTION: HOW MANY YOLKS DO YOU SEE?
If you simply count every yellow yolk visible in the pan, the number is:
π― 8 YOLKS
Hereβs the breakdown:
- π³ 1 yolk near the top center
- π³ 1 yolk in the upper-left area
- π³ 1 yolk in the upper-right area
- π³ 2 yolks together in the left-middle section
- π³ 1 yolk toward the lower-right
- π³ 2 yolks together in the lower-middle section
Add them together:
1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 8 yolks
So if your eyes immediately told you 8, you were counting the yellow centers.
But hereβs the real trickβ¦
π€― HOW MANY WHOLE EGGS WERE ACTUALLY USED?
Now stop counting the yolks.
Instead, look at the egg whites.
The two groups containing two yolks close together can each be a single double-yolk egg.
That means those four yolks donβt necessarily represent four separate eggs.
Instead, they can come from just two double-yolk eggs.
