A Slap in the Dark

An Englishman, a Frenchman, a nun and a young woman are sitting in a train compartment
The train drives into a tunnel, the lights in the compartment have gone out, it is pitch black. Suddenly a loud SMACK! is heard, and when the train is back out of the tunnel, the Frenchman is in pain, holding his red cheek.

The Nun thinks: “He must have gr0-ped the young woman and she slapped him – very good!”

The young woman thinks: “Haha! He must have tried to gr0-pe me, but in the dark touched the nun and she smacked him – very good!”

The Frenchman thinks: “What a crap! The Englishman must have tried to gr0-pe the young woman, she thought it was me, and smacked me.”

The Englishman thinks: “Haha, in the next tunnel, I’ll hit him again!”

Why Was Everyone Laughing at the Nun?

A nun was walking quietly down the street on her way to church one Sunday morning.

As she passed the local grocery store, the shopkeeper looked at her, smirked, and said,

“Wake up on the wrong side of the bed today, Sister?”

The nun paused for a moment, slightly confused, but politely smiled and continued on her way.

A few blocks later, another man passing by glanced at her and chuckled.

“Rough morning, Sister?”

Now she was beginning to feel genuinely puzzled.

Not long after that, two more people made similar comments.

“Someone’s in a mood today.”

“Didn’t sleep too well last night, Sister?”

By the time she reached the church, the nun was completely baffled.
